This page features a set of selected indicators showing trends and patterns for student enrollment, expenditures, staffing patterns, endowment value and research expenditures across US universities, public and private, identified as Very High Research Activity (R1) and High Research Activity (R2) institutions by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The members of the Association of American Universities Data Exchange (AAUDE) work in the research university sector.
